Forgotten & Forsaken
The dictionary defines forgotten as unremembered and forsaken as abandoned or deserted. Yes. The people in this series of acrylic paintings are indeed souls consigned to oblivion. They are the throwaways of our world. I placed these people in my home town of Santa Cruz California to juxtaposition the natural beauty, affluence and privilege of the Monterey Bay with the reality of fleeing refugees and migrants.
