The four paintings in this series were created at the tail end of 2019 and the last one was finished in early February 2020. These dates are important as they were the last paintings completed before the pandemic and everything changed. What was I thinking about during this time? Honestly its a struggle to remember. These paintings seem almost quaint-look at all the people going about their lives! They have no idea what’s coming. Sure, they may seem alienated, lonely and frustrated but still – so normal. These paintings present an historical narrative of our collective “before-time”.
